# Automation

> Keyboard shortcuts and the settings that make DeepVerify check content without being asked

By default DeepVerify only checks what you ask it to. A few settings change that, so pages and videos are checked as you browse.

  The two automatic-checking settings, **Auto-detect Claims** and **YouTube Auto-Verify**, are **off** out of the box. If you want hands-free checking, turn them on in **Settings**.

## Keyboard shortcuts

| Shortcut                      | Action                                       |

| <kbd>Alt</kbd> + <kbd>F</kbd> | Open or close the side panel                 |
| <kbd>Alt</kbd> + <kbd>D</kbd> | Run DeepVerify on the selected text          |
| <kbd>Alt</kbd> + <kbd>T</kbd> | Start capturing tab audio for a Live session |

These are Chrome's suggested defaults. If another extension has claimed the same combination, reassign them at `chrome://extensions/shortcuts`.

## Check pages automatically

**Settings → Auto-detect Claims** — *Highlight claims as you browse*

With this on, DeepVerify scans pages as you open them and highlights the claims it finds, so you can see what is worth verifying before you start reading. Off by default.

## Check YouTube videos automatically

**Settings → YouTube Auto-Verify** — *Auto-detect and verify claims on YouTube videos*

Starts verification on its own when you open a video, instead of waiting for **Start Verifying**. Off by default.

**Settings → YouTube Fact-Check Card** — *Show verification card below YouTube videos*

Shows the result card in the page under the video, so you can see the Trust Score without opening the side panel.

  Revisiting a video you already checked does not re-run verification — the earlier result is shown instead. Use **Check again** when you want a fresh verdict; the previous result is kept so you can compare them in [History](/guides/deepverify/history).

## Check selected text faster

**Settings → Floating Button** — *Show button on text selection*

Puts a small DeepVerify button next to any text you select, so you can check it in one click instead of using the shortcut or the right-click menu. On by default.

The right-click menu entry **DeepVerify with Factagora** is always available and is not affected by this setting.

## Confirm what is being checked

**Settings → Page preview** — *Show a preview card for the current page*

Shows a card with the page's title and thumbnail before a check starts, so you can confirm you are on the page you meant. On by default.
